I've been playing left handed guitar and bass guitar for over forty years. During that very long time some things have changed and some have stayed the same.
When I first started playing I realised that I would face a life long "handicap" being left handed. Today I think young players are pretty much in the same boat. It is true that the range and availability of lefty instruments has dramatically improved, especially at the vital entry level, but we still, in most cases have to pay more for our instruments than the common mob do and we still have to make do with much less diversity of choice than our conventional brethren.
That's why I think this site and others like it are important.
We need a place where we can find left handed guitars of all types and price range to look at and perhaps buy. There aren't enough of us in one place to meet up and compare notes so the internet is our opportunity to do so.
Too many young players give up because it's too hard to find anyone willing to help. Well I'm willing to help! I want to establish a free listing of left handed guitars for anyone anywhere. Send me pictures and details of your left handed guitars and basses and I'll put them on the site. Even if you only want to show them and not sell them you can have a picture of your guitar on the net for free. Buyers and sellers can email each other direct and negotiate privately person to person with no fee or commission for me or anyone else.
Another reason to put your guitar photos on line is for security. In the event your treasured guitar was stolen, you would have a ready made description to circulate. Remember this is all totally without cost to you, and it might help get your guitar back.
Dealers are welcome to advertise their left handed stock too
