gordon-smith gs 2/60
rule Britannia !
These things pump. Made on a farm in Cheshire or somewhere by a bloke named John Smith (that's original!) his missus and a mate. He winds his own pick ups, both coil tapped and only makes two or three guitars a week. He has no real distribution/dealer network. I was in Scotland for a while in 2000 and wrote to him to ask where I could buy a left handed one and he sent a bloke to see me in a transit van.
The story reads like Monty Python but make no mistake this bloke makes a serious guitar. There are no fancy inlays to be seen. Mostly satin finish is used and they are definitely tools not jewels but they play like butter, sound like to-die-for and they cost nothing. I mean they are too cheap! This one cost me $1000 au. at the time. I don't think I could sell it because I would only want another one. Actually I've got another one.......
