In Your Dreams!

When I was a kid I used to draw guitars. I was never much of an artist so I used to cheat! I would use kitchen paper and trace over photos in brochures and magazines. In time I progressed to flipping the paper over and ending up with a left handed image. I'm still doing it, only I use editing software these days. But I don't merely press 'rotate' I have been known to spend hours selecting, cloning, rotating and repainting just so I can read a logo or headstock. O.K. I'm sick! but I would love to be able to own some of these beauties and I get a kick out of seeing a realistic left handed representation of what they would look like. It is not my intention to berate the manufacturers of my fantasy collection, far from it. Please take their inclusion as a "left handed compliment"

Fender recently introduced this baritone Jaguar. But not for us lefties!

Gretsch do make these models for left handers but many tasty morsels don't come to our table.

Here's one you will never see!

L/H Highway strats only come in 3 colours, I like this one best what do you think?

A Korean built Marquee version is all the southpaw community can hope for in the Marvin range.

The sunburst on the right is a real lefty. As for the rest? I suppose the custom shop would oblige, at a price!

Would you like one like this or a Mexican standard?

Now that's what I call bookmatching!

You can get one of these. Unfortunately you will probably have to pay for it before you see it.

You can't get any of these. Unless you are right handed, or content with a tricked up photo!

I saw a black lefty on the internet. The picture was reversed and the bass "out of stock"

I'm still waiting for them to come up again. Burns told me the only lefty they make is a Marquee guitar.......

Well, I finally found one. This is a real white lefty bought from Peter Cooks in London, May 2007

That's what I want! I faked this picture to be a spitting image of my old bass. see "mailbox"

This is an American Sheraton, note the mini humbuckers. It's also not available left handed

My other guitar is...

When I get my white bass completed I am going to build a Warmoth Jazz with Seymour Duncans and gold hardware. This was a Mexican Jazz picture that I played with to check colour schemes. Pink with vintage pearl in this case. I'm leaning more to a block inlayed maple neck with antique gloss finish but who knows what I decide by the time I get the job started...watch this space!

Of course it could end up looking like this...

...and it did.

My next self-build venture could look like this...

...or something like this.....

WillyK #6 is due to appear mid February......

June '07 and it looks like this

I call the finish "barndoor burst"
